NOTICE OF PRELIMINARY BUDGET

NOTICE is hereby given that a proposed preliminary budget shall be submitted to the Saguache County Board of County Commissioners for the ensuing year of 2022, a copy of such proposed budget shall be filed on October 20, 2021 in the office of the Saguache County Clerk and Recorder, where the same is open for public inspection.
Anyone interested may inspect the proposed budget and file or register any objections thereto at any time prior to the final adoption of the budget.  A copy of the proposed preliminary budget is also available on the Saguache County website.

RFP Audit 2021

Saguache County is currently accepting proposals for the Saguache County 2021 Fiscal Year audit.  The ideal firm or individual will have extensive knowledge and experience related to conducting governmental audits in accordance with generally accepted accounting and auditing standards, and preparing financial statements that conform to all state, federal and industry guidelines.  

All interested parties should submit a SEALED letter of interest and a proposal for services by November 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM to: Saguache County Administration office.  Sealed envelope must say 2021 Audit on the front of the envelope. Letters can be mailed to Saguache County PO Box 100, Saguache, CO 81149 or hand delivered to 505 3rd Street, Saguache, CO 81149. Public Notice Forest Reserve Title III Proposed Project -Crestone Mountain Zen Center

The Saguache County Board of Commissioners is soliciting public comment on a proposal to spend Forest Service Title III funds for the following project: Crestone Mountain Zen Center, is requesting funding to be used to enhance and expand the Crestone Mountain Firewise Community.  CMFC will continue to use volunteer labor to supplement contractor fees, reduce hazardous fuels by creating a defensible fire break near the road below all three centers and adjoining USFS land, continue mitigation in the 200 foot ignition zone surrounding the 17 buildings between Crestone Mountain Zen Center, Haidakhandi Universal Ashram and Shumei International Institute, continue training and exercises among stall, consulting and planning for creating additional water supplies for firefighting, update Fire Safety Plan to include evacuation protocols.  Written comments may be addressed to the Board of County Commissioners and submitted to the Saguache County Administration office located at 505 3rd Street, Saguache, CO, mailed to PO Box 100, Saguache, CO 81149 or may be emailed to wmaez@saguachecounty-co.gov.

The Saguache County Board of Commissioners is soliciting public comment on a proposal to spend Forest Service Title III funds for the following project: Daniel S. Johnson – Saguache County Firewise Program, to continue running the Saguache County Firewise Team to do free wildfire hazard assessments, educational presentations and hands-on mitigation projects in Saguache County. Written comments may be addressed to the Board of County Commissioners and submitted to the Saguache County Administration office located at 505 3rd Street, Saguache, CO, mailed to PO Box 100, Saguache, CO 81149 or may be emailed to wmaez@saguachecounty-co.gov.

The Saguache County Board of Commissioners is soliciting public comment on a proposal to spend Forest Service Title III funds for the following project: E3 KFM Kundalini Fire Management, is requesting funding to continue to reduce hazardous fuels, support of the creation of a new Firewise Community, initiating local prescribed burning for lowering fire danger, increasing biodiversity, and raising the health of the land. Written comments may be addressed to the Board of County Commissioners and submitted to the Saguache County Administration office located at 505 3rd Street, Saguache, CO, mailed to PO Box 100, Saguache, CO 81149 or may be emailed to wmaez@saguachecounty-co.gov.

Help Wanted: DSS Office Assistant

Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent, experience in office procedures and equipment, and moderate knowledge of excel spreadsheets, Microsoft word, be able to work with various software program as needed for State of Colorado reporting and time management, adequate computer skills.  Filing, answering phones, good communication skills, assist employees with technical issues and other duties as assigned.  Starting pay $12.75, Drug test to include marijuana and background check will be required.

Help Wanted: DSS Case Worker

Saguache County Department of Social Services is now accepting applications for the position of Child and Adult Protection Caseworker.  Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences is required. Previous experience in Colorado Child Protection system and Trails, and/or the Adult Protection system is desired, but training will be provided. Basic job description includes being part of a team to assess risk and safety of referrals, and working with families, youth and children, or senior population to provide services for stability and safety. Help Wanted: Personal Care Providers

Saguache County Public Health is hiring Personal Care Providers (PCPs). PCPs go into the homes of people who need help with cleaning, laundry, cooking meals, medication reminders, medical devices, and many other needed chores.

Applicants are required to pass a drug test, including marijuana, and a background check.  Applicants are also given a knowledge, skills, and abilities check to ensure they can lift at least 10-15 lbs. safely. The position starting wage is ($15.15/hour) and is part-time up to 29 hours per week depending on client base.  If you want a rewarding job serving those in need or have any questions concerning this position give us a call at 719-655-2533 M-F,  8-4.
